Country Draft's daily board on 23 October 2026: Soichiro Honda of Japan seated as Science & ideas for 29 points, fit 25 plus fame 4, with the five cabinet jobs above

Country Draft is a free daily geography and strategy game from Countrivo. Over five rounds you pick a country, choose one of its famous people and seat them in a cabinet job, then see how many of the world's 195 countries your cabinet conquers. Everyone gets the same board, it takes about three minutes and needs no account.

About Country Draft

Country Draft is a short drafting game on Countrivo, a site of free geography games. Each day it serves one board, the same for every player, and you build a cabinet of five people from around the world. The board changes at midnight Berlin time.

Each of the five rounds offers three countries. Opening a country locks it in, and shows three of its famous people: leaders, soldiers, economists, writers, scientists and others. You choose one and give them a job that is still open: Leader, Army, Money, Voice or Science and ideas. Only after you confirm the appointment do you see its points, so you cannot test every person in every seat before deciding. The reveal splits the points into career fit and fame, gives a one-line reason (Soichiro Honda worked as an engineer, so he fits Science and ideas) with a link to its source, and lets you see the other people you passed over that round.

Each appointment earns up to 25 points for how well the person fits the job and up to 10 for how famous they are. On top of that come three cabinet bonuses: 8 when every job is a plausible fit, 6 for drafting from three world regions and 6 for mixing eras, with someone from before 1900 and someone from after 1950. The best possible total is 195, and the map paints that many countries. Par is 140.

There is no login. After a daily game you can add a name to the leaderboard, and a practice mode gives fresh boards that never touch the daily leaderboard. The next day, the page shows the best cabinet that could have been drafted from yesterday's board. It suits players who like history and geography and enjoy a quick decision game more than a quiz.

How to play Country Draft

  1. Open the day's board and look at the three countries offered for the round, each with its world region.
  2. Open one country; it locks once opened, and shows three of its famous people with their years.
  3. Choose one person, then pick a cabinet job that is still open: Leader, Army, Money, Voice or Science and ideas.
  4. Seating them is final: the points for career fit and fame show only now, with the reason and a source.
  5. Press Next country and repeat for five rounds until all five jobs are filled, then see your score out of 195 painted on the world map.

Tips

  • Match each person to the job they actually did: up to 25 of the 35 points per seat come from career fit.
  • Keep an eye on the region and era trackers at the top; three regions and a mix of before 1900 and after 1950 add 12 points.
  • Leave a flexible job open for the late rounds, when the countries on offer may not have an obvious fit for the seat you still need.

Questions

What time does Country Draft reset?

A new daily board arrives at midnight Europe/Berlin time, and everyone gets the same board.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no login. After finishing a daily game you can add a name to the leaderboard if you like.

What is a good score?

Par is 140 out of a possible 195. It is a reference score, not another player.

Can I play more than once a day?

Yes, practice mode gives fresh boards and does not change the daily leaderboard.

Can I see the best answer?

Yes, the next day. Once a daily board closes, the game page shows the best cabinet that could have been drafted from it, and you can explore that board.
