on codepop.app

CodePop is a free browser puzzle based on Mastermind. Each day one secret four-colour code is generated from the date and shared by all players, and you have eight guesses with feedback pegs to find it.
About CodePop
CodePop brings the board game Mastermind to the browser as a daily puzzle. The site says each daily code is deterministic and generated from today's date, so everyone in the world plays the same code. The game's code reads the date in UK time, so the new code arrives at midnight in London.
You pick four colours and submit. Feedback pegs then show how many are the right colour in the right spot, how many are the right colour in the wrong spot, and how many are not in the code at all. With eight guesses you narrow the possibilities until the code is cracked.
The standard daily uses four different colours. The difficulty switch in the menu opens a second daily, the Expert code, where colours can repeat and the deduction is much harder. A practice mode gives unlimited random codes, and the Game Archives page lists every past daily by month back to April 2026. Run out of guesses and you can reveal the code or take extra guesses past the eighth. Streaks and statistics stay in your browser, there is no account, and the share button copies an emoji grid of your guesses without spoiling the answer. The site is in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
It suits players who like pure deduction and a short daily logic task with a clear result to share.
How to play CodePop
- Tap four of the six colours (red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange) to build a guess, then press Submit.
- Read the four small pegs beside the row: green is a right colour in the right spot, yellow a right colour in the wrong spot, dark a colour not in the code.
- The pegs do not say which colour they refer to, so use each result to rule out options for the next guess.
- Crack the code within eight guesses, then share your emoji grid.

Tips
- Start with four different colours to learn quickly which ones are in the code.
- Change one position at a time when you know the colours but not the order.
- In Expert mode remember that a colour can appear more than once.
- Use Practice mode or an old day from the archive to try opening strategies without spending today's code.
