on cluefunnel.com

Clue Funnel gives you one mystery subject a day, a person, place, event, work or idea, and six clues that start vague and grow specific. Every wrong guess opens the next clue, and the fewer clues you need, the better your score. Its Sports Funnel does the same with a daily sports subject.
About Clue Funnel
Clue Funnel is a one-answer trivia game built on a simple shape: a funnel of six clues. The first is deliberately broad, along the lines of a polymath who excelled in several fields, and each one after it narrows the field until the last all but names the answer. The subject can be a person, a place, an idea, an event, a cultural work or any other notable topic.
You type a guess at any point. Spelling does not need to be exact, as reasonable variations are accepted. A wrong guess reveals the next clue, and the round ends when you get it or the sixth clue is used up. Solving it shows a short read about the subject, which is part of the game's aim to be simple and educational.
The same site runs more than one daily game. Sports Funnel uses identical rules for a daily sports answer, with its own share colour and its own archive. Timeline, at cluefunnel.com/timeline, is a daily history challenge of a different kind. You get six historical events and choose how many to stake, from two to six, then place them in order. More events score more points, but one mistake loses the lot, so most players stop short of all six. It has its own archive of past days. Each funnel gets a new puzzle at midnight UTC, and past puzzles can be played from the archive pages. The main archive goes back to late November 2025. There is no account, and an optional email reminder sends the day's puzzle.
It suits trivia players who like the moment a vague clue suddenly makes sense, and anyone who wants a short daily quiz with a single answer rather than a list of questions.

Tips
- Guess early even on a vague clue; a wrong guess costs only the clue you would have seen anyway.
- Read each clue against all the earlier ones, since the answer must fit every clue.
- Early clues often describe a category, so list what fits before guessing.
- For Sports Funnel, think about the era and the sport hinted at before naming a person.
