Chomp is a free daily route puzzle from Mind Loft. A cast of mascots sits on a small board and must be eaten in order, and every square you pass through stays yours for the rest of the run. Exactly one route eats the whole cast, and it uses every square on the board.
About Chomp (Mind Loft)
Chomp plays like a slow, careful snake. You move one square at a time with the arrow keys or the on-screen pad, and nothing moves until you do. Your body never shrinks, so the trail you lay is a wall for the rest of the run. A mascot whose turn has not come yet is solid, so you cannot pass through it to reach a later one, and a few fixed bleachers block squares too.
The bulldog always goes first and the rest of the order changes daily. Each board has exactly one route that eats the whole cast, and that route covers every square, so there is no spare room. Mind Loft's advice is to work backwards from the last mascot and ask at each junction which way can still get back for the far corner, not which way is quickest. Steering into a wall is refused and costs nothing.
A board counts as solved once the whole cast is eaten. Replays are free and every attempt counts, so the leaderboard keeps your fastest solve of the day, and fewer moves break a tie. Giving up records the run as it stood. The cast shrinks through the week, from ten mascots on Monday to eight on Saturday, and the Sunday Edition moves to a bigger 8x8 board with the whole cast on it. On 30 October 2026 the 7 by 7 board held nine mascots and no bleachers, and the one route took 48 moves.
How to play Chomp (Mind Loft)
- Open Chomp and press Start.
- Move one square at a time with the arrow keys or the pad, starting toward the bulldog.
- Eat the mascots in the order shown; squares you have visited and mascots not yet due are walls.
- Keep going until the whole cast is eaten and the board is full. If you box yourself in, press Restart and try the same board again.

Tips
- Plan backwards from the last mascot, since the one route has to use every square.
- Avoid leaving single squares cut off along the edges; you will never get back to them.
- When a move looks obviously right, check it: the tempting shortcut is often what walls off a later mascot.
Questions
What time does Chomp reset?
A new Chomp puzzle goes up every day at midnight US Eastern Time, the same for every player. The Sunday Edition moves up to an 8x8 board with the whole cast on it.
Is Chomp free?
Yes. Chomp plays in the browser on Mind Loft with no app and no account. Signing up with a display name (no password) puts your solves on the daily leaderboard. An email is optional.
Can I play earlier Chomp puzzles?
Yes. Every past Chomp board is in Mind Loft's puzzle archive, listed by day.
Does Chomp have a timer?
There is no countdown and nothing moves until you do. Your time still matters on the leaderboard, which ranks each player's fastest solve of the day, with fewer moves breaking a tie.
