on castsix.com

Cast Six is a free daily film puzzle. You get six film posters and six categories, such as a genre, a decade, an actor or a director, and must give every film a different category even when it fits more than one. You have three checks to get the whole lineup right.
About Cast Six
Cast Six is a small matching puzzle for film fans, made by Charlie Temkin, a product manager who loves films and TV. Each day's numbered puzzle lays out six film posters and six categories: a genre such as fantasy, a decade of release, an actor such as Adam Sandler or a director such as David Fincher. Every film fits at least one category and many fit several, so the puzzle is in finding the one arrangement where all six films land in different places.
You place films by tapping a poster and then a category, or by dragging. Moving films around and Undo are free. When all six are placed you press Check: green shows a film that fits its clue, red one that needs another look, and Clear wrong sends only the red ones back. You have three checks. Hints, called the Director's note, each place one correct match at a cost of 150 points, and an optional timer adds your time to the result you share.
Film facts, credits and posters come from The Movie Database, and each board is checked to have one complete solution, with source links in the results. A fresh puzzle arrives at midnight Eastern Time and past dailies stay in an archive. For more play there are themed packs by decade, genre, actor and director; five library puzzles a day are open without signing up. The daily needs no account, your streak is kept in the browser, and an optional email reminder can carry your progress to another device. There are no ads on the game.

Tips
- Start with the narrowest category, such as a director or an actor, since only one or two films can fit it.
- Place films that fit only one clue first, then fit the flexible ones, such as a decade or a broad genre, around them.
- Moving films and Undo cost nothing, so try a full lineup before you spend a check.
- A Director's note places one correct match but costs 150 points, so keep it for a pair you cannot split.
