Beat Me at Boggle is a daily Boggle game with a rival built in. Its maker, Ava, plays each day's board first, and you get the same letters and the same clock to beat her score. Words she missed earn you a bonus point, and weekend boards grow from 4x4 to 5x5.
About Beat Me at Boggle
Beat Me at Boggle is a web version of the classic letter-grid game, made by Ava Dinh-Vu, a web developer from Melbourne who wanted the head-to-head part of Boggle back. Every day she plays the board, and her words and score become the target for everyone else. You trace words through letters that touch across, up, down or diagonally, using each tile at most once per word, before the timer runs out.
The board changes with the day of the week. Monday uses the classic Boggle dice on a 4x4 grid. Tuesday to Friday use a generator that lays down a long word and builds the board around it, so every letter belongs to at least one word, and Saturday and Sunday use the same method on a bigger 5x5 grid with an extra minute. Longer words score more, and by default any word you find that Ava did not gets a bonus point; a setting switches that off for a fair fight, and another adds two minutes to the clock.
The dictionary is chosen with care: a stricter word-game list for short words, which keeps out obscure Scrabble entries, and a broader one for longer words. After each day a stats page shows the average and best scores, the share of players who beat Ava and the longest word on the board. A challenge link lets you send your result to a friend, and the site also has a word checker and a board solver. Past boards and a practice mode are kept for supporters on Patreon. The daily board itself is free and needs no account. The site has no ads and is supported by its players. It suits anyone who misses playing Boggle against a person.
How to play Beat Me at Boggle

- Submit as many English words as you can before time runs out; proper nouns and contractions do not count.
- At the end, compare your words and score with Ava's; words she missed give you a bonus point.
- Check the next day's stats page to see how the rest of the players did on the board.

Tips
- Do not stop at a short word: from RAVE, look for RAVEN, RAVER or RAVED nearby.
- Read words backwards too; DOG on the board means GOD is there as well.
- Spot common clusters such as ING, ER and RE at the start and build words onto them.
- After a long word, check the smaller words inside it, like SORT inside ASSORTED.
