Games like Tango: daily sun and moon grids to play next
Tango is a binary puzzle, known elsewhere as Binairo or Takuzu: fill a grid with two symbols so every line is balanced and no three match in a row. The games closest to it use exactly those rules on more or larger grids; after them come the puzzle apps and sites that include a binary grid in their daily set.
The games
Start with Equinox from Puzzleship. It keeps Tango's suns and moons, its balance rule, its ban on three in a row and its equals and cross markers between cells, and it publishes six numbered grids a day, from very easy to ultra hard. If Tango's six by six feels quick, the harder Equinox grids are the natural next step.
Several other dailies use Tango's exact size and symbols. Puzzle Round's Equinox is a single 6x6 grid of suns and moons a day with a timed leaderboard, Coronet's Lunation is a free 6x6 daily board with three suns and three moons in every line and the same = and x signs, and Solsticio is a 6x6 sun and moon board generated from the date, with a worked solution to read afterwards. SudokuWiki's Daily Binairo gives four boards a day, 6x6 and 8x8, each in a plain version and a Plus version with Tango's equals and X signs between cells. On phones, Rumba keeps Tango's equals and cross marks and shows each day's median solving time, and Lunoku on the iPhone plays 6x6 from Monday to Thursday, 8x8 on Friday and Saturday and 10x10 on Sunday, with hints that explain each move. Logic Trio on the iPhone has a Binary grid with = and x signs every day beside a crowns puzzle and a path; the three dailies are free and a Premium subscription adds more.
For more and bigger grids, BrainBashers' 3-In-A-Row posts ten blue and white grids a day from 6x6 to 14x14, PuzzleMadness's TicTacToe uses Xs and Os at several sizes with a leaderboard, and the Special Daily Binairo gives everyone the same large grid each day, 24 by 24 on 2 October 2026, with the extra rule that no two rows or columns may be identical. The Daily Mail's Kurosu 8 and Kurosu 10 fill 8x8 and 10x10 grids with crosses and noughts under the no-three-in-a-line rule. Mind Loft's Duet adds walled rooms that must balance too, a twist for players who know the rules well. Nunca Quatro on O Globo, in Portuguese, is a looser cousin: three 9x9 grids of crosses and circles a day where the only rule is that four alike never line up, with no count to balance.
If you like having several small puzzles in one place, many apps put a Tango-style grid next to others. yotsu. gives you four a day, one of them a Binairo, and stops there. Puzzle Pact's thirteen daily puzzles include Balance, a 6x6 grid of circles and diamonds with three of each in every line and never three alike in a row, and friends can compare times in private groups. LinkedLab's Polarity balances suns and moons with clues between cells, Trifold's Eclipse does the same, Tenkt has a sun and moon Balance grid, Lanterns Daily has Fireflies, and Daily Logic Puzzles from Spark and Spiral has a Binary Sudoku of 0s and 1s. Everyday Grids from the makers of CodyCross has a mode called Libra, its take on Binairo, the Sutom app includes a daily Takuzu, and Figgle, an iPhone app made for children, opens its nine daily puzzles with Day & Night, a gentle suns and moons grid. In the browser, Daily Grid has Bits, a binary grid to balance, among its twelve puzzles, GridJoy includes Takuzu among eighteen types a day, and How Puzzling's daily gauntlet of three grids draws on Binairo among other classic types, so a binary grid appears on some days and not others.
