Games like Quordle: daily Wordles played on many boards at once
Quordle has you solve four Wordles at once, with nine guesses shared between them. The obvious next games change the number of boards, from two up to a thousand, or let you pick it; others line up several Wordles one after another or bend the rules of a single board.
The games
Choose by how many boards you want. Dordle is the gentle one: two words in seven guesses, good for a quick warm-up. Xordle also hides two words, but they share no letters, and you get eight tries from a clue word everyone starts with. WordTwiq goes the other way: its two words differ by a single letter, as in SHORE and SCORE, and you have seven guesses for both. Hexordle sits between the two: six words in 11 guesses, with a three-board Trordle daily on the same site. Octordle doubles Quordle to eight words in thirteen guesses and adds daily Sequence, Rescue and Extreme versions. Sedecordle runs sixteen words in 21 guesses, and Duotrigordle thirty-two in 37, which turns the game into bookkeeping as much as vocabulary: you plan opening words to cover the alphabet and then work through the boards one by one. Thirty-two Wordles, the daily Sectordle, gives the same 32 boards and 37 guesses on another site. Past that, Sexaginta-quattuordle has 64 words in 70 guesses, and Kilordle a thousand words in 1,005 guesses.
Some games let you pick the size. Wuzzle Games offers its daily on anything from one to 32 boards, with a timed speedrun version. Polydle goes further: you type any number of words from 1 to 2,315 and get that size's own numbered daily, in Classic, Speed and Perfect modes. Worder, an app for iPhone and Android, has a numbered daily in Classic, Double, Quad and Octo sizes, with an archive of past days.
If you want Quordle itself as an iPhone app, Quad Puzzle (called 4 Words inside the app) has a daily challenge with a world ranking, and Quad Words has a daily set with streaks and unlimited practice.
Quordle has its own daily Sequence mode, and Octordle's Sequence opens the boards one at a time; several games build on that idea. Arkadium's Hurdle gives four Wordles in a row with six guesses each, each opening when the last is solved, then a final round that starts from your four answers and leaves you two guesses. SteppedUpdle climbs from a four-letter word to a seven-letter one, all four sharing 20 guesses. Cascadle runs five words from three letters to seven, and every guess you made on one level carries down as a clue for the next. Four Little Words hides four words of three to six letters behind one daily theme, with colour clues on every letter and five mistakes for the lot. Duolock asks you to crack two four-letter words at once, with every guess feeding both.
Rushle is a stranger cousin: each guess is checked against 26 hidden words, letters only show when they sit in exactly the same spot, and ten guesses that clear no word end the game. Crosswordle on serializer.ca hides two related words that cross on one letter; you guess both at once, and an extra colour marks letters that belong to the other word.
Some games put the words on one grid instead of side by side. Squareword hides a five by five square whose rows and columns are all words; each guess is checked against all five rows, and you try to fill it in as few guesses as you can. Thirdle is a mini crossword of three five-letter words, each guess fills all three, and a purple tile means a letter belongs to one of the other words. Squardle has six crossing words on a five by five board, with hints that say whether a letter sits in the same row or column. Crosswordle.org stacks small Wordles into a five by five crossword, so each answer helps with its neighbours. And if you want a harder single board instead of more of them, Fusele gives every row of its daily its own rule.
For most Quordle players, Octordle is the natural step up, and Dordle the one to play on a busy day. Every daily game on Wordle's letter-and-colour rules, one board or many, is on the daily Wordle-style games page (/daily-wordle-games), and the games of Quordle's and Octordle's publisher are on the Merriam-Webster games page (/merriam-webster-games).
